1. Bug-fix sent out

    Hey everyone,

There was a minor issue that, after editing a loan, the back-key didn’t work as expected. The update just sent out fixes this issue.

    Enjoy the app!

  3. Upcoming features

    Hey again!

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m working on a new version of IOU. In this post, I’ll shed some light on the upcoming features.

The first is archiving IOU’s: instead of deleting an IOU completely, you can now archive them for future reference. It’ll also save the date on which you archived it, in case you want to look it up.

The second is adding return dates: when adding a loan you can now add a return date. Next to the three current pages (‘Overview’, ‘I owe’, ‘They owe’) a fourth one shows only loans with a deadline.

The third is a live tile: IOU is a Windows Phone 7-exclusive app, and Live Tiles are a Windows Phone-exclusive feature. Makes sense to implement it, right? The back of the live tile now shows you your upcoming deadline plus how many deadlines you have in total.

The fourth is pinning a secondary tile: tapping the secondary tile on your start screen, immediately brings you to the ‘New IOU’-page.

That’s it for now - time to get back to work!

  4. Mango app in the works

    Hey there, everyone!

As I’ve said before, I have lost access to my developer account. After further contact with Microsoft, it seems there’s no chance of recovering it.

However, I’ve restarted working on the app. Currently, I’ve been doing a lot of optimizing under-the-hood, to make adding new functionality easier in the future. It should also perform faster.

Important to note is that I won’t be able to send out an update to existing users. It’ll become a new app in the marketplace, which you have to search for and install again.

I’m not entirely sure when I’ll be able to release it. It’s not done yet, and I’ll be making this a big update including a bunch of things people have requested.

Obviously, it’ll be able to multitask (like all Mango apps) and it’ll become available in more markets.

Also, I’ll be adding a ‘History’ list, where you can see fulfilled IOUs.

I’m not entirely sure what else I’ll be adding - I’m focussing on one feature at a time.

When I know more, I’ll post an update again!

  5. Anonymous asked: Hi, so when do you pan on submitting your mango app? its a great app but it can be better with what mango APIs now allow for.

I’m sorry. Something went wrong which caused me to lose access to my developer account. Therefore, I can’t submit updates. I’ve tried resolving the issues through the developer support channels, but to no avail. I might work on it in the future, and submit it on a new account, but unfortunately I can’t guarantee anything for now.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope it did answer your question.

  6. Inactivity almost over

A lot has happened behind the scenes, so now it’s time to show you I’m still working on the app!

I’ve been preparing a Mango version, but have also been looking for an alternative to this blog. Tumblr suffers from too many small quirks to be easy to manage, so I’ll probably move to wordpress soon.

Be patient, you’ll get more details about the updates and such in the near future!

I haven’t forgotten about the requests and feedback I’ve gotten.

  7. IOU featured on 1800PocketPC!

After XDA-Developer and WMPowerUser, IOU has now been featured by 1800PocketPC!

They’ve placed a great write-up showing both the IOU’s strengths, as where I could improve the app somewhat. Overall, the review is really positive about the app, with a few notes that could help it reach perfection.

You can find the review here.

I’m working on it guys, but for now: holidays!

Everything’s packed and I’ll be leaving tonight. I’ll be back in a little more than two weeks - See ya then!

  8. windowsphone7apps asked: You can find our review of the app here ( can't add links :(, check 1800PocketPC_com )

You should add a contact form or email address in here so its a tad easier to get in touch with you , not every one might have a tumblr account :)

Hey there, thanks a lot for the extensive review!

I’ve replied to the comment section of it, regarding some of your feedback.

When clicking ‘feedback’ in the menu people will get to see my e-mail, and if I recall correctly I allowed guests to use the “Questions” page. I’ll admit, I haven’t checked that.

Anyway, thanks one more time - I’ll have to continue packing now ;)

  9. Development paused for holidays, great reviews

    Dear readers,

As I’m working on v1.4, time goes by rather quickly. In fact, in a few days, I’ll be leaving for holidays.

For now, I can’t guarantee if the update will be submitted before I leave. I’ll do my best, but if not, this explains why there’s some inactivity for a while.

I’ve gotten a lot of valuable feedback, and I’m definitely working on including those ideas the best way possible. Thanks again you guys!

On a sidenote: the reviews in the marketplace have solely been 5-star ratings! Thanks a lot!
